Velouy (an anagram of Love You) is the soul-soaked beat-heavy project of Dublin native, producer and singer, Darran Brennan.
The music leans into ambitious truth, aiming for something that resonates on a primal level. Soundwise, Velouy tips a hat to bands like The Black Keys and Chet Faker—falsetto vocals, distorted beats and infectious melodies—but there’s also a nod to the brooding textures of ’90s UK icons like Massive Attack, and the adrenalised punch of Chase & Status. It’s a sound that’s equal parts grit and gloss, designed to hit you in the gut as much as the heart.

On top of that, Brennan produces downtempo music under the moniker Lowfix. The sound draws deep inspiration from ‘90s and 2000s icons like Kruder & Dorfmeister, Air and Zero 7, infused with modern influences such as Khruangbin. Blending world music, soul, jazz and funk, it's a creative and decidedly sonic palette.
