Fírinne McIntyre

Fírinne ‘Bear’ McIntyre is a Dublin-based vocalist, songwriter and one half of alt-pop duo mischa and the bear. Working alongside producer Danny 'Mischa' Rooney, the duo have created a project rooted in DIY culture, digital intimacy and dark, synth-driven sound design.

Formed in early 2025, mischa and the bear blend synth-pop, witch house and electro-pop into something both nostalgic and forward-facing.

In 2026, the duo were named a Rising Artist by RTÉ 2FM, alongside earning a Silver Selection at the Berlin Music Video Awards and multiple ‘Track of the Week’ placements on 2FM.

Their releases have been praised for their 'industrial textures, distorted beats' and haunting intensity', with support from BBC Across The Line, Radio X, and Irish outlets such as District Magazine, Nialler9 and Hotpress.

Alongside English-language work, McIntyre also writes and performs in Irish (see 'Abair'), contributing to the project’s evolving identity.
