Danny Rooney
Daniel ‘Mischa’ Rooney is a Dublin-based producer, songwriter and performer with over a decade of experience working across independent and collaborative projects.
His work as a producer and writer has accumulated over 10 million streams on Spotify, alongside live performances on sold-out tours across Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA.
He is currently one half of alt-pop duo ‘mischa and the bear’, alongside vocalist Fírinne ‘Bear’ McIntyre, where he leads the project’s production and sonic direction.
Formed in early 2025, ‘mischa and the bear’ blend synth-pop, witch house and electro-pop into something both nostalgic and forward-facing. In 2026, the duo were named a Rising Artist by RTÉ 2FM, alongside earning a Silver Selection at the Berlin Music Video Awards and multiple ‘Track of the Week’ placements on 2FM.
Their releases have been praised for their ‘industrial textures, distorted beats and haunting intensity’, with support from BBC Across The Line, Radio X, and Irish outlets such as District Magazine, Nialler9 and Hotpress.
