Theresa McKenna is a singer-songwriter and pianist from Drogheda, Ireland, now based between Dublin and the Netherlands. Blending her classical background with contemporary songwriting, she creates emotional, melody-led music inspired by storytelling, Irish culture and elements of the Irish language.
Since releasing her debut single Impossible in 2018, Theresa has continued to build a growing audience with her atmospheric sound, cinematic songwriting and powerful live performances. Her single Blue Eyes, released in January 2026 as the first track from her debut album EchoHeart, earned her a place on BBC Introducing Northern Ireland’s Sound of 2026 list, with BBC Introducing host Taylor Arthur Johnson saying Blue Eyes “sounds like it should be on Jools Holland’s New Years Eve Hootenanny.”
Known for her dynamic live shows, Theresa has toured internationally with Best of Ireland and shared stages with artists including Emma Langford, Síomha and Brian Kennedy. Her performances move effortlessly from full-band, explosive moments to intimate stripped-back piano ballads, showcasing both the emotional vulnerability and cinematic energy at the heart of her music.
Through heartfelt songwriting and emotionally charged performances, Theresa explores themes of identity, womanhood and modern Irish life, establishing herself as one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging artists.
