Matt Purcell

Matt Purcell is an Australian songwriter/singer/guitarist who relocated to Ireland in 2014. He has played and
recorded with Sydney band Clover in the past. Matt released his debut album ‘Matt Purcell & The Blessed
Curse’ (Other Tongues) in 2010, bringing praise from power pop fans in the US & Australia alike. His second
album came in 2013, called ‘Mathew Street’ and was a more introspective, folk rock effort. Matt’s third
album, ‘Silverman’ was released in Aug 2017, and received a favorable review by Hotpress Magazine.

Matt has been writing and recording new songs in his home studio in Nenagh, Tipperary, Ireland. ‘Message to you’ (Matt’s fourth album), the sound of the great sixties Beat, Power pop and early Rock & Roll, was released on Italian label, Other Eyes Records in 2024. Matt & his band played shows in Sarmato, Italy in 2025, The Cavern Club, Liverpool in 2026, aswell as recording a new album in Abbey Road studios in May (2026), planned for a release date of later this year.
