The Leon Stax Equation

Leon Stax is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Ireland. His sound a chassis of Soul music with the aesthetic and flavours of Jazz, Rock, Funk and Psychedelia.

Born 2nd youngest in a family of 10, Leon took influences from all genres from his older siblings and parents. Through playing in various bands with his 2 brothers Leon finally came to find that his true calling was in Soul music.

Leon's Live band The Leon Stax Equation is an act driven by funky drumming with a heavy downbeat, sweet, sometimes irreverent vocals and familiar yet original lyrics. It is music meant to make you feel something. Departing from the modern musical education of virtuosic execution it is perhaps unsurprising in its form, but never boring in its delivery.

Though The Leon Stax Equation has only been playing gigs since 2023 they have already released 2 self produced albums(are in the process of releasing their 3rd) and toured in Europe and the USA.

Their studio sound while still modern in many ways utilizes tape effects and a live recorded feel that picks up where the Soul and Rock classics of the 1960's left off.

The Leon Stax Equaiton's 3rd studio album 'In View' is out on all major streaming platforms and on CD and vinyl on May 8th 2026
