Kim O’Hehir

Galway based artist Kim O’Hehir has been writing songs since she was seven. After studying music at the University of Galway she moved to California on the promise of a record deal, which fell through on arrival. She busked and gigged her way across the US before returning home, eventually falling into music teaching and pub gigs. Although the stability was a welcome reprieve from her US experience, she woke up and realised she was giving up on her dream.

In 2025 she quit teaching, walked away from the pub gigs and threw herself back into writing, recording and self-funding her own music. She committed to releasing a song every month throughout 2026. In November 2025 she began posting her music online and by February her audience had grown from 2,300 to over 80,000 followers.

Her sound leans into timeless 70s-inspired ballads. Piano led, lyric driven, full of feeling, Kim’s songs are about love, loss, heartbreak and choosing yourself.
