Java Light

We’re Java Light, a 5 piece “alternative indie rock and any genre we feel like on the day - band. We hail from all over between Cork, Laois and Kildare.

Formed on Valentines day in 2025 (ooh la la) We have been writing plotting and scheming, playing any gig we can get our grubby little hands on ever since<3

Our sound blends atmospheric indie textures with driving rhythms, melodic hooks and an energetic live presence. We place strong emphasis on tight musicianship , creative lyrics and creating an immersive set that connects with audiences, shaking ass and shedding tears (often at the same time).

The band is made up of Millie Thomas on vocals, James Foxall on lead guitar (and vocals), Lavinia Waldron on rhythm guitar (and vocals), Paddy Bergin on bass and Conor Dunphy on Drums.

Recent live highlights include a performance in Cyprus Avenue as part of a 250 person ticketed event, a headline show at Cork’s iconic Fred Zeppelin's, and a New Year’s Eve show at the legendary Hamilton's Bar in Leenane, Connemara. We have also played multiple local gigs across Laois including Abbeyleix.

We recently recorded our first 2 singles set for release during the summer, and now we look forward to what those projects and more will bring!
