Holy Show

Alternative // Dublin

Dublin-based alternative band Holy Show emerged onto the Irish indie scene in January 2025, bringing their own captivating world of introspective, resounding melancholy with them. Established in October 2024 by college students Emily Deegan on vocals and bass and Cathal Grogan on guitar, the pair were joined soon after by guitarist Alex Dunne and drummer Ben Black.

The foundation of Holy Show's unique sound began as an eclectic mix of folk, funk, grunge and indie, and has now eased into an alternative, pensive setting with instrumentals resembling the likes of Sunny Day Real Estate, Deftones and Basement with the lyrical and vocal essence of Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries) and Jeff Buckley. Their music delves into topics such as heartbreak, introspective discovery, anger, and uncertainty, with the intention of articulating complex human experiences.

The evolving four-piece have been making a name for themselves in their local scene bringing their animated, atmospheric live shows to renowned venues such as Whelan’s, The Button Factory and The Grand Social, reigning in fans from all across Ireland.

Holy Show have released three singles to date. Their most recent release ‘Vacancy’ has been described by GroovyChuck (2025) as “their best song to date and is definitely the most diverse one in terms of showcasing the full array of their talent...it feels both psychedelic and retro, making it stand out from the rest.”

“This band is a humble down-to-earth group of friends that make amazing music together. I can see them playing bigger venues in the coming year, and they seem to be making a name for themselves in Dublin as a one-of-a-kind rock band.” - Through The Grapevine (2026)

“Holy Show have been picking up serious momentum throughout 2025. Vacancy feels like another big step forward, and a clear sign that Holy Show are a band worth keeping an eye on in the Irish indie scene.” - TheBeat.ie (2025)
