Holylight is ‘dreamy music by a heavy butch’, an alt-rock outfit led by main songwriter, frontwoman, and multi-instrumentalist Alex Rosenberger.

Over the last three years, Holylight has established herself in Ireland’s indie rock scene with fresh, soulful and unapologetically queer music. With several successful releases and many of Dublin’s iconic venues under her belt, 2026 is set to be the band's biggest year yet.

Her style is heavy yet ethereal, weaving the ebb and flow of emotion into songs which shine in their raw sincerity. Her songs fuse massive, captivating walls of grunge-gaze with glittering indie rock and even include elements of dream pop and alternative metal.

She was DublinFM Queeriosity’s first ever artist of the month, has had radio play and interviews across Ireland and Europe (Dublin City FM, Amazing Radio, BR Puls, Radar45) and has been featured in Hot Press, Golden Plec and StarFish Magazine.

Holylight’s infectiously energetic live act is made up of members Alex Rosenberger (vocals, guitar), Eden Matthews (bass), Sarah Dexter (drums) and Nathan O’Maoilearca (guitar).

With the successful release of ‘ceiling of your world (feat. Sultan Herrnandez)’ and more exciting music lined up, 2026 is shaping up to be the year Holylight shows what she is truly capable of.
