FonnLogic

Electronic // Limerick // He/Him

FonnLogic is essentially the result of two people who have spent twenty years refusing to act their age.
On paper, we are sensible, functional members of society. In the studio, we are an Irish indietronica project that treats the "logic" of digital music production like a suggestion rather than a rule. We take the Irish word Fonn, which loosely translates to “melody,” drive" or "insatiable desire,” and apply it to the very questionable hobby of trying to make modern software sound like it was recorded on a piece of faulty 1970s hardware.

We specialize in "retro-industrial" sounds: if it’s got a bit of grit, a warm analog hum, and sounds like it might have been left out in the rain, we’re interested. We capture the kind of messy, human guitar performances that most people would edit out, because we’re too stubborn to fix them.

Between releasing singles like The Archives and Almost Nothing, we spend our time arguing over plugin chains and wondering why we didn't just take up golf. The result is music that is technically precise, undeniably melodic, and refreshingly devoid of any delusions of grandeur.

We’re FonnLogic. We make noise that we like, and we’re quite pleased that you’re listening to it.
