Black Pope is an Irish garage rock’n’roll project blending vintage horror aesthetics with raw, analogue-driven production. Drawing influence from 50s rock’n’roll, garage punk, and psychobilly textures, the project delivers high-energy performances rooted in theatrical imagery and stripped-back arrangements.
The debut album White Smoke was released in October 2024, followed by a German tour and a vinyl launch event at LA Recordings in Berlin. Black Pope has performed across Ireland, the UK, and Germany, including shows promoted by Bad Vibrations at The Shacklewell Arms in London and Elysium Gallery in Swansea.
Known for its distinctive visual identity and cohesive sonic world, Black Pope merges classic rock’n’roll foundations with darker cinematic tones, creating a sound that feels both vintage and contemporary.
Black Pope is currently recording a new EP while writing material for a second album.
