Afterbliss

Indie // Dublin, Dublin

Formed in 2019, Afterbliss' blend of melodic rock, hard riffs and indie synth pop have firmly cemented them as one of Dublin's most interesting and exciting acts to emerge in recent years.

The origins of Afterbliss can be traced back to 2018 when guitarist / synth player Alex Burcea and drummer Ally Pender, who had played together in a previous band, realised they had a strong creative spark. The pair put together a handful of early songs and co-founded the group. The current line up was completed with the addition of lead vocalist Evan Cassidy, guitarist James O' Gorman and bassist Shane Waldron who helped shape the band’s sound into what it is today. Afterbliss' style of music has been compared to the likes of The Killers, Muse, Editors and Manic Street Preachers.

The band entered the legendary Windmill Lane Studios in September 2020 and worked with producer Alan Kelly (Kings of Leon, Herbie Hancock) and mastering engineer Fergal Davis (Muse, Sinead O' Connor) to record their first songs.

November 2020 saw Afterbliss release their debut single, "Until Sunrise'', which received acclaim from local radio and media. The band followed this up in February 2021 with "Kiss & Tell'' and in June 2021 with "Remnants". All three releases have been heavily featured on Spotify playlists as well as achieving extensive radio play across UK and Ireland. "Remnants' was featured as Track of the Day by Hotpress in June 2021.

Afterbliss released their debut EP, “Unknown Machine” on 22nd October 2021. They supported this release with a sold out show in Whelan’s Upstairs Venue.
