Ways of Seeing's songs of yearning exist as dreamlike stories. Intricately layered music meets lyrics which appear like dazzling bones of poems. Complex arrangements blend cinematic guitar textures with jazz influenced orchestration and esoteric art-rock drums that suddenly stir the soul awake. Ways of Seeing inhabits an otherworldly space while grappling with the realities of life and love. For fans of the sincere sounds of Cass McCombs, there is a strong storytelling undercurrent to his work that feels a kinship to poetic forces such as Destroyer, Sufjan Stevens, Nick Cave, Kevin Morby and Andy Shauf. Working with producers Alex Borwick (Rachel Lavelle, Niamh Regan) and Tommy McLaughlin (Pillow Queens, Soak), an album is earmarked for late 2022.
