Wave of Sparrows

Hailing from Blarney, Co. Cork, Wave of Sparrows is a dream of the future, a blend of the past and an energy of the present. An affinity for synthesisers, samples, drum machines with a joy for the odd burst of metal; above all pop. But dark pop, gothic pop, dark wave. A dark weave of deep questions in ordinary circumstances.

Comprising of Mark Hickey formerly of Decoy-X, Drug Penguin and Too Many Werewolves and Karen Tsiakals of UV Protection, The Secret Sea, and Zombies with Attitude, Wave of Sparrows is a summation of the greatest aspirations of those previous bands, emboldened by years of writing, training, playing and experimenting.

Musically landing somewhere between SugaBabes and Morbid Angel, with particular resonances with Depeche Mode, V.A.S.T., Crosses, NIN, Placebo and Level 42.

Lyrically somewhere between Tears for Fears and Live.
