Turnpikes is an Irish rock band based in Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
Turnpikes was formed in 2024 by frontman Noah Sheehan as a solo project, with the intention to start releasing music under the name, and expand the lineup over time, before beginning to build a live identity and integrate into the Dublin scene.
Throughout 2024-2026, Turnpikes have released 6 independent singles, 5 of which being recorded solo by Sheehan.
Turnpikes combines air-punching anthemic choruses with a pop sheen and a personal edge. Inspired by everybody from the delicate singer-songwriter intimacy of Elliott Smith and Phoebe Bridgers, to the huge, shout-along rock of Bruce Springsteen and Bleachers – Turnpikes captures the intense anxiety of growing up and sets it free to be celebrated.
Starting this year with what has been described as “the last Turnpikes solo recording,” the band released a demo called Just Running in February. They are expected to begin rolling out their debut EP in the Summer of 2026 with an Autumn release.
Turnpikes made their live debut in May 2026 at BIMM Dublin's End of Semester Showcase. The live video of this performance is available on their YouTube channel.
Turnpikes have released 6 independent singles; New Tricks / Tiny Changes, Risk I’m Willing to Take, Walk, I Think You Know, Sarah, and a demo of Just Running.
