The Mash Combo
Dublin, County Dublin
The Mash Combo are a Dublin-based band based around singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Declan Murray, previously of Irish/Indian Band The Unseen Guest, and Dublin band The Four In Hand.
Their original music sound has the tight rhythmic pulse to it, sounding at times reminiscent of The Police's early music, at others the spikiness of late 70's Talking Heads. Their debut album "Riot of Cells" was recorded in early 2013 in Dublin.
When they play live, their aim is squarely on entertainment: There is no beard stroking at any of their gigs. The "Mash" in their name comes from their tendency to mix and match different types of music together like a D.J. would, creating a seamless and danceable set that has won them acclaim in venues across Ireland.
