The most fitting way to describe the music of Alt-pop duo The Best Part is authentically unique. Creating a sound like no other artist currently on the music scene singer/ songwriter Aimee Cuffe and songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist David Dudeney layer compelling vocals with electric guitars and pop synths and take inspiration from a host of different genres to create a sound that goes beyond ‘generic pop’.
To date the duo have independently earned their place on Major Spotify playlists such as New Pop UK, New Music Friday, New Pop revolution, Chilled Pop Hits and Easy among others. As well as catching the attention of BBC Introducing in the UK and gaining independent radio play across Ireland the UK and Germany, The Best Part were recently shortlisted for Irish Music Months A New Local Hero contest in association with Hotpress in Ireland. A notable release that says a lot about the path the pair intend to pave came with their release of their climate activism single Our House Is Burning the proceeds of which they donated to a wildlife conservation charity in Kenya. The Best Part played their Debut headline show in The Workman’s Club, Dublin days before lockdown in 2020 and made their return this October to the venue for their exciting live performance joined by their impressive live band. The duo along with their band recently played their debut overseas gig in London.
The Best Part chose to spend the pandemic as a time for growth. Stepping away from releasing to focus on the songwriting process and perfecting their craft. The product of that year of coming into their own is now ready to be shared with their audience and they look forward to sharing their new music with the world.
