Teresa Horgan

Folk // Dingle, Kerry // She/her

Teresa Horgan is a renowned Irish folk singer and flute player from county Cork. She has toured the world sharing her craft with various ensembles, including award-winning groups such as FullSet, Téada, The Outside Track and many more. Teresa has performed at various notable festivals in her almost 20 years of touring, such as “Lorient Interceltique” (Brittany, France), “The Irish Festival of Oulu” (Fin.), “Celtic Connections”(Sco.), Celtic Colors”(Cape Breton, Can.), “Woodford Folk Festival” (Aus.) and WOMAD festival (USA).

Teresa is based in the picturesque town of Dingle, on the southwest coast of Ireland, where she regularly performs with acclaimed musicians, including Donogh Hennessy (founding member of “Lúnasa), Éilís Kennedy, Gerry O’ Beirne, Matt Griffin, Jeremy Spencer and more. She has also had the privilege of recording alongside some of the best in Irish music (including the aforementioned): Séamus Begley, Pauline Scanlon, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, Martin Brunsden (Hothouse Flowers), Barry Kerr and more.

She previously toured and recorded with award-winning Irish trad group “FullSet” and recorded two critically acclaimed albums during her time with them. Since 2012, Teresa has toured extensively with award-winning Pan-Celtic group “The Outside Track”, with whom she has recorded three studio albums. She also released a duo album with guitarist Matt Griffin in 2015, called “Brightest Sky Blue”. In a review by Tony Lawless (TradConnect), he described Teresa’s voice as having “just enough world weariness in her vocals to interpret…songs and make them her own”. Teresa released a new solo album in 2025, called “Amethyst”, which was co-produced (along with Teresa) by Donogh Hennessy.

Teresa was immersed in music from a young age, playing whistle, flute and singing with her family and traveling to festivals together throughout the years, having a rich upbringing in Sliabh Luachra music, and other genres. She was regularly surrounded by wonderful singers growing up, which hugely influenced her repertoire and style, and has since been influenced by many more since moving to Dingle in 2012.
