telekura

Named after a telephone-dating service, telekura is a Dublin-based collective born from a shared love for a maximalist sound. Founded by Stephen Purcell and Rachel Tan – two neighbours who cycled past each other daily but made music exclusively apart – the band has evolved into a creative partnership with Liam Brady on drums, Risa Hanamoto on synths and Michael O'Sullivan on bass. The telekura sound is a vivid anomaly: a fusion of acid-soaked electronica and technicolour psyche-pop that draws from every era without being tethered to one.
