Softdrink Millionaire have been good. With a little over a year under their current guise, the indie-rock trio have garnered a reputation as being a true band’s-band, with songs that are as patient as they are explosive, and lyrics that are as mundane as they are keenly-observed. While their 2025 debut EP, ‘SOUND’, established the fragile yet askew songwriting of frontman and sometimes poet Josh Fortune, their live show cemented the prowess of the group, with childhood friend and guitarist Joseph Dillon, and bassist and one-time co-worker Tombo Earls completing the dynamic unit, crafting a sound that pairs the explosiveness of post-rock with the introspective malaise of slacker-rock.
Emerging from the seaside town of Bray, the band made a name for themselves in the capital city with shows alongside local heroes Madra Salach and Fizzy Orange, notable outsider artists like Jeffrey Lewis, and as must sees at showcase events like Borderline, Whelan’s Ones To Watch, and MusicTown at the National Concert Hall, picking up notices from Nialler9, Hot Press, and Genuine Irish along the way.
