SKPSM

SKPSM is the alias of composer, producer and DJ Sam Kay, using hardware and software instruments, creative samples and effects to produce emotive electronic music across a wide range of genres from abstract House and Downbeat to melodic Electro and Dub Techno, inspired heavily by the deeper side of Detroit, Chicago, UK Bleep, Dublin and Bristol affiliated sounds from the 90s/early 00s. SKPSM has releases on Irish label Mines Clarence, with new music and live shows coming in 2026.

Sam is also a member of groups Commissions, Libero, Furry Trees and Words for the Unknown and has previous solo releases as Sam Kay (on RMN Music) and Intuitive Travels In Sound (with Loud Mouth Collective). He has performed live with Commissions at Open Ear Festival (Sherkin Island, Co. Cork), Dublin Modular at Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin, and Local Resonance at Bello Bar, Dublin. He previously performed with Words for the Unknown at MART Gallery and the Sugar Club.

DJing since 2006, Sam has performed at many venues across Dublin (Bernard Shaw, POD, Twisted Pepper, Underground@Kennedy's, Big Romance), clubnights (Electric City, Test, Subject, Breakfast Club) and events (Electric Picnic), and supported international acts including Americhord, Function, Deetron, XDB, Tama Sumo, Margaret Dygas, Solomun, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Eamonn Doyle. Sam coincidentally played the last ever DJ set in the legendary POD nightclub before it abruptly closed its doors for good one night in 2012 (For the record, the last track ever played there was Joey Beltram's 'Energy Flash' :).

Sam has run clubnights and events with friends since 2007 including MishMash, Loud Mouth, Gary's Gang, Cheap Synesthesia and Local Resonance.
