Cork, County Cork

Síofra is a classically trained piano-pop songwriter from Cork. She began writing in childhood, her first effort being the chord F. Just the chord. Nothing else. Since then however she has been likened to Tori Amos, Regina Spektor, and on one particularly wonderful occasion, Kate Bush. Described as fresh and theatrical, Síofra started gigging in 2015, after abandoning notions of becoming a Medieval Literature Lecturer. With a mischievous energy that belies the darkness of her lyrics, carried by hooky piano progressions, Síofra’s songs are deceptively upbeat, dramatic, and painfully relatable. If you like adjectives, run on sentences, and smiling through pain, then Síofra is the act for you.
