SICK LOVE

Rock // Dublin

A band of 4 people who have been through the ups and downs of music and life together, Sick Love are back on the scene after taking a creative hiatus to produce their debut album.

They have spent the last 2 years writing and producing their first full-length record, which has been 10 years in the making. After producing an album during the lockdowns in 2020 (and ultimately throwing it all in the bin), the band went back to their roots and started writing again without the constraints of trying to please anyone but themselves.

They spent most of 2021 recording and producing the album in a cottage on a farm, pushing the boundaries creatively and sonically. The result is an album that feels authentic and true to the heart of who Sick Love is. It documents the many highs and lows of the human experience, laid bare by frontwoman Rebecca Geary.

Prior to this, Sick Love made their name touring around Ireland & the UK breaking with high-energy, no holds barred rock shows, sold-out headliners and support slots for Dashboard Confessional, Crazy Town and Fangclub. They’ve played the Dr Marten’s Boot Room in London, Other Voices, The Great Estate Festival, Camden Rocks, Electric Picnic, Indiependence and in 2019 had their first sold-out London headline in The Dublin Castle, among others.

Bolstered by single “Gun In Your Pocket” which featured on the hit TV show “The Young Offenders”, they released their highly praised EP “Baby It’s You” in May 2020 which saw the band receive significant UK & Irish radio support and secured several major Spotify editorial playlists including New Music Friday UK, Hot New Bands, The Rock List and the hugely sought after ‘Walk Like A BadAss’.

Their debut album is set for release on Paragon Records, home to Northern Ireland Music Prize winner Kitt Philippa, multiple-synced electronic artists The Sei, and streaming success Curtis Walsh. With several punchy singles to come in the first few months of 2023, Sick Love are destined to return as staples on DSP + radio station playlists and music festival line-ups very soon.
