Sea Squared is the solo project of Dublin musician and music educator Conor Callan.
From 2013 to 2025, Conor performed with Irish instrumental band Megacone, touring extensively across Ireland and the UK, appearing at many of Ireland’s major festivals and releasing multiple EPs as well as a vinyl record.
A guitarist by trade, Conor began learning music production during the pandemic as a way of finally giving life to compositions he had been developing since his teenage years. As part of this process, he immersed himself in the intricacies of writing and programming instruments beyond his own background, from synths and orchestral arrangements to drums and electronic textures, allowing the solo project to fully realise the scope of his ideas.
In an effort to streamline the process of writing and releasing music, he also began creating his own artwork, building a cohesive visual identity around each release. Having started making YouTube videos at the age of 15, he had already been developing video production skills along the way, bringing that visual experience into the Sea Squared project.
While firmly rooted in progressive metal, Sea Squared moves comfortably across genres, incorporating elements of electronic music, jazz fusion, orchestral writing, and video game composition to create expansive, emotionally driven soundscapes.
