Sammy Copley

Acoustic // Dublin // he/him

Sammy Copley is an Irish singer-songwriter based in Dublin. He is largely inspired by the 60s and 70s folk rock music his parents raised him on, though he is also partial to the Sugababes.

He has been sharing music on the internet since he was a teenager, developing a following of over 380,000 across platforms for both his covers and original work. His self-produced debut album, Growing Pains (2021), was a lockdown project that explored themes of grief, growing up, and queer identity.

Following its release, he signed with Tom Rosenthal's indie label Tinpot Records between 2021 and 2024. With Tinpot, he released the Little Box EP (2022). Singles To The Bone and Irish Goodbye were featured on RTÉ Radio 1 and Spotify's Viral 50 in Ireland. He played headline shows in Dublin and London, as well as festival slots in the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Rapper Kojaque sampled Irish Goodbye for the song HEAVEN SHOULDN'T HAVE YOU, the closing track to the album PHANTOM OF THE AFTERS (2023); they performed the song together live at Kojaque's sold-out shows in Vicar Street and Islington Assembly Hall.

Sammy has played support act to a number of artists, including Sorcha Richardson, Orla Gartland, and The Academic. Most recently, Sammy opened the show for Canadian artist Billianne on the UK and Ireland leg of her Modes of Transportation tour. They got stuck on a stormy ferry from Dublin to Holyhead for twenty-three hours; in-keeping with the tour's theme. He loves support gigs and hopes to do many more, whatever the weather.
