‘Before We’re Forty’... New band from the West releases' original song!

Folk duo from the west of Ireland, Siobhan O’Donnell and Martin Coyne AKA Rigmarole, have just released their new track ‘Skies’ earlier this month. It’s groovy, uplifting, and extremely catchy. The lyrics 'Skies can be blue or skies can be grey..’ are repeated at the start of each verse and you will find it lingers nicely in your ears for some time afterwards.

'Before we’re forty’ is the motto of the band, who are now both in their 30s, are glad to have finally got around to finishing their original music and sharing it with the public after more than ten years of gigging on the folk scene across Ireland and the UK.

Siobhan is from Co.Sligo and Martin’s family are from the Maam Valley in Co.Galway. Both musicians grew up in families steeped in traditional Irish music. Martin featured in a showband with his Dad and Siobhan is a highly regarded performer on the traditional Irish music scene.

The pair met at a weekly singing session at the Herschel Arms pub in Slough, outside London. Expats came from far and wide to share their songs and stories, and also had an opportunity to introduce their original songs into the setlist. Soon after that Martin and Siobhan were inspired to collaborate and embark on their own music project. Currently the duo has co-written and recorded over 20 original songs and are set to release their first album toward the end of 2020.
