PRTLND

PRTLND (Portland) is a Dublin-based indie rock project from French-born songwriter Mathieu. Twenty years in the city, six singles and 60K Spotify streams quietly accumulated since 2022, and then, in 2026, something gave way: he finally stepped out of the home studio and onto the stage.
His music sits in the tradition of crunchy, melodic guitar rock: Weezer's emotional precision meets Sam Fender's confessional directness, filtered through a sensibility that is distinctly his own. French introspection. Irish grit. Songs about mental health, burnout, family, and what it costs to keep waiting for a permission that was never coming. The intention behind every track is the same: to make the listener feel a little less alone, and a little more capable of moving forward.
New single "All My Life" is the clearest statement yet. Four more are planned for 2026.
At 48, Mathieu is not trying to sound young. He is trying to sound true. In a crowded landscape, that turns out to be a fairly radical position.
