Pebbledash

Pebbledash are a five-piece from Cork, made up of members Fionnbharr Hickey, Cormac Donovan O'Neill, Asha Egan McCutcheon, Eoin Schuch and Luke Downey. With a sound surging at the confluence of folk-inflected indie-rock, blistering shoegaze and traditional Irish music, Pebbledash have shared stages with the likes of Babyshambles, Cardinals, Bleech 9:3, Bar Italia and Westside Cowboy, as well as luminaries of Ireland’s underground like Elaine Malone, the Altered Hours, Junior Brother and Girlfriend.

2025 was a year of dizzying forward motion for Pebbledash, as the band announced themselves to the scene with not one but two fully-realised bodies of work. Their debut EP Four Portraits of the Same Ugly House represented a “stunning collection of tracks that balance the bands live intensity and grit with a sense of maturity and beauty” (Louder than War), and it’s follow-up To Cast the Sea in Concrete described as “impeccable […] material, that demonstrates both their breadth, and sense of purpose” (DORK), the sound of “a band reaching beyond neat, tidy ideas” (Clash Magazine). Bolstered by singles Cartography and Asha’s Waltz, bridging the gap between these EPs and showcasing the band’s noise-rock and trad-folk tendencies, Pebbledash’s relentless output garnered support from UK tastemakers like Clash, So Young, DORK, Psychedelic Baby, Radio X and BBC Radio 6’s Emily Pilbeam, as well as significant Spotify editorial support on Fresh Folk, Hot New Bands, The Indie List, melomania, and New Music Friday UK to name a few.

Going from strength to strength as a live band, the year also saw Pebbledash embark on the So Young Tour alongside Cardinals and Men an Tol, followed by their own successful headline tour of the UK and Ireland behind the release of their second EP, as well as playing Paris’s They’re Gonna Be Big and Rotterdam’s Left of the Dial festivals. The band’s notoriety was further stoked by a prime needle-drop in Netflix’s runaway success House of Guinness; their featured track ‘Carraig Aonair’ has amassed over 200,000 listens on Spotify.

In 2026, Pebbledash have fulfilled the promise of 2025’s whirlwind momentum in kind, supporting Cardinals on their largest tour of Ireland yet and taking to the stage with UK indie-rock icons Babyshambles in in storied venues like Vicar Street, and playing festival slots across the UK and Ireland such as Dot-to-Dot, Wanderlust, and a headline slot at Dunkirk’s We Will Folk You. Their set at All Together Now to a packed-out Jameson Circle further cemented the band’s status as one of the island’s premier live acts, as has the release of Tiles and Moss (Live at St Luke’s), which sees the band reimagine one of their most energetic songs in their catalogue as a traditional folk-rock cut against the backdrop of one of Ireland’s most striking stages.
Following the acclaim of their first two releases and their stellar reputation as incendiary live band, Pebbledash are poised to enter into the coming year in similar fashion, with upcoming festival dates at Future Days (Birmingham), SWN Fest (Cardiff) and more, with their eye on their first full-length release.
