Peadar Connolly is an Irish singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose
work explores the connections between musical traditions across cultures. Performing on
voice, autoharp, and global woodwinds, he brings together Irish traditional song with folk
traditions from around the world.
With a background in ethnomusicology, Peadar has studied vocal traditions including Irish
folk song and Albanian urban folk music. This research informs performances that weave
together songs, stories, and musical influences from different cultures.
His debut release Codhlaím go Suan (2025) received recognition locally and
internationally in outlets including RTÉ Lyric FM, Hot Press, and The Irish Independent.
As a songwriter, he contributed to the second-place entry in Eurosong 2024, Go Tobann,
performed by Ailsha. He has performed at venues including the National Concert Hall in
Dublin, Rich Mix in London, Reja in Tirana, An Taibhearc in Galway, and Oxford Town Hall.
Alongside his solo work, Peadar collaborates internationally with other musicians and as a producer both freelance and with the collective Oda 3, whose recordings of Albanian urban folk music have
received multiple four- and five-star reviews from Songlines and nominations for the
Songlines Music Awards.
