Patrick McMenamin is an independent artist from Ballybofey, Co. Donegal — a small town with big echoes of music in its blood. Raised in a family of musicians who played in bands and wrote songs, he picked up a guitar at 15 and began writing his own. Like many artists, his path wasn’t linear.
Patrick spent years performing cover sets, playing weddings, and working behind the scenes as a stagehand on some of Ireland’s biggest tours — from Ed Sheeran to The Rolling Stones. All the while, the pull to return to his own music never left.
His sound blends the raw pulse of Kings of Leon, the storytelling grit of Bruce Springsteen, and the emotional atmosphere of Bon Iver. But more than influence, it’s about carving out a voice of his own — one that speaks honestly about heartbreak, growth, nostalgia, and the fear of never reaching your full potential.
“It’s me against me now,” he says. “I’m finally ready to show the world what I’ve been holding back.”
Though Patrick writes and shapes his songs independently, he brings them to life in full colour through dynamic, high-energy live performances — backed by a band that supports his vision without overshadowing it. Each track begins with a core emotional idea — tone, melody, and story — and evolves into something bigger: not just a song, but a moment.
His debut EP, The More Things Change, due March 6th, marks not just a career milestone but a deeply personal one. It’s the beginning of a new chapter — and a promise to finally back the artist within.
