The musical practice of Parking Spot & Oriole Nest weaves experimental electronics with the Ukrainian authentic vocal tradition. Through their performances, the duo explores how a living tradition can resonate within contemporary sound design while preserving its original essence and form.
The collaboration was initiated by CMYK, a musical project that fuses Ukrainian traditions with electronic sound, bringing authentic music to the club scene. Their shared performance was first presented at CMYK.Vesna on April 27, 2025, in Kyiv.
Parking Spot is the project of electronic musician Marko Medvedev, originally from Horlivka in the Donetsk region and currently based in Dnipro. His work moves between ambient and experimental electronics, combining generative algorithms, field recordings, and complex rhythms. His releases unfold into multilayered soundscapes hovering between intuition and structure.
Oriole Nest is the solo project of folklorist Tetiana Osin, who is also a member and co-founder of the Kyiv-based folk ensemble Viltse. Her music blends elements of neofolk and ambient, drawing on both traditional folk melodies and texts as well as original compositions.
