I’m ONYINYÉ, a Black Irish artist, I create from spirit, ancestry, and exploration . ONYINYÉ is my Nigerian name(Igbo) and it means Gift from God, and I believe my existence and my music is meant to heal, challenge, and unite and also simply be enjoyed. I blend my African roots, Irish culture , femininity, sensuality, and Blackness to create a sound that feels like me . My artistry feels like where childlike innocence meets spiritual reflection, where beauty exists in chaos and play is sacred!!!!!!!!!. I’m influenced by neo-soul, 90s hip-hop,rap, jazz, Afrobeat/beats, Motown, Irish trad music and Ireland itself, my goal is to create my own genre. Music is how God appears to me man, through words, sound, and love. I create without rules, trusting that my truth will reach who it’s meant for and I’m grateful that my music is part of the birth of Black Irish culture.
