Formed in late 2024, New Enemy is a Dublin-based alternative rock band known for their explosive sound, genre blending intensity and exhilarating live shows.Fusing elements of alternative rock, emo, nu-metal, and post-hardcore, the band delivers a raw and emotionally charged take on the 2000s alt rock revival.
Drawing inspiration sonically from My Chemical Romance, Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park, and AFI, New Enemy infuses their music with searing punk riffs, crushing breakdowns, and anthemic choruses.
Their sound balances the aggressive edge of post-hardcore with the melodic sensibilities of emo, resulting in a style that’s both nostalgic and fiercely modern.
The band is fronted by Ashley Strong-McCann (vocals), with John Collard (bass/vocals), Shay English (guitars), Veronika Svecova (drums), and David O’Farrell McGeary (production/guitars) completing the lineup.
They’ve already played large venues like Opium Dublin (supporting Di Ferrero, 600+ capacity), Siege of Limerick, and Outkastz, with many more shows in the pipeline for 2026.
In summer 2025, New Enemy released their debut single “Take Me Away,” which was mixed by award-winning music producer Alex Copp (As December Falls, Chaidura, Stay Safe) and mastered by Grant Berry at Fader Mastering (Busted, The Maine, Boston Manor).
Looking ahead, New Enemy plans to spend the remainder of 2025 writing and recording new material, with a cover of Linkin Park's “One Step Closer” to be scheduled for release in October 2025 to coincide with a performance planned for the 31st.
The band is gearing up for a series of singles and an EP in 2026, while continuing to build momentum on stage with regular live shows. Alongside these releases, New Enemy are preparing for appearances on the 2026 festival circuit, bringing their high energy performances to bigger stages and new audiences.
