Mykology

Mykology is the songwriting home of Mick O’Gorman, brought to life through the rich acoustic textures of collaborators Christina “Crispy” Quill on banjo and Evan Heird on double bass. What began as a solo project grew into a close-knit trio whose sound mixes gentle folk arrangements with honest, quietly reflective songwriting.

In 2025, Mykology’s music reached a wider audience with its first national radio play, marking a new chapter for the project. With a run of new recordings already underway, the group plans to release a steady stream of tracks throughout the year — and possibly shape them into an EP or album.

Before forming Mykology, the musicians cut their teeth across Ireland’s live scene, appearing at festivals, television performances, and radio play on previous projects including Good Time Villains. That experience feeds naturally into the project’s easy chemistry: organic, melodic, and rooted in real connection.

Mykology is, at its heart, a simple idea — songs written with care, arranged with friends, and shared with whoever needs them.
