Mothbell

Mothbell is a Dublin-based rock/folk band, creating music set in a world inspired by Irish folklore, Beatrix Potter, and the city’s native wildlife. Their songs interrogate our culture’s relationship to nature, power, and control, moving from intimate acoustic passages to sweeping atmospheric rock. They recently released their debut single ‘Glass Crown’, which explores a community of birds abandoned by their king, caught in the illusions of the titular crown. They have performed both in DIY shows across Dublin and in the visual art exhibition ‘In Place of Meaning’ in the Swords Carnegie Library. On stage, drummer/vocalist Ciarán McGannon and guitarist Dylan Folan weave storytelling, field recordings, and handmade costumes built from sticks and leaf litter into shows that feel both grounded in the natural world and touched by something otherworldly.
