Emil Kapusta — professionally known as Mildly Fool!sh — is a drummer, producer and engineer based in rural Ireland, known for a musical approach that balances instinct, precision and sonic detail.

With over a decade of experience across studio and live environments, Emil has developed a reputation as a versatile collaborator whose playing is defined by feel, groove and a strong sensitivity to the wider emotional arc of a song. Whether tracking in the studio or performing on stage, his focus remains the same: serving the music while bringing character, consistency and depth to every performance.

Alongside his own work, Emil has collaborated in recording, live and writing sessions with a diverse range of artists, including: Cliffords, James Vincent McMorrow, John Murry, Josh McClorey, The Savage Hearts and The Strypes. His many collaborations have shaped a working style defined by adaptability, musical intuition, and a way of working that helps artists feel comfortable enough to fully settle into the music.

He is also recognised for his work with Dirty Marmalade, where his drumming and production have played a central role in shaping the band’s distinctive sound. His background in production and engineering informs every aspect of his musicianship, allowing him to approach rhythm not only as a performer, but as someone who understands how a record is built from the inside out.

Known as much for his presence in a room as for his playing, Emil brings a grounded, collaborative energy to every project — combining professionalism with a sense of humour and an approach that makes the creative process feel natural.

Emil holds a BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music from BIMM Institute Dublin, and continues to work with artists seeking a creative partner who values music, sound and long-term artistic identity in equal measure.
