Mary is a vocalist, cellist and writer of melodic driven string lines and lyrical storytelling. Works as a session cellist, sometime solo performer and mostly form filler.
Mary also writes and records music under the name Mary & the Pigeons on her own label, Sharkwoman records.
She is currently recording a cello duo album of folk worlds with Lioba Petrie under the name Marmosets.

She has written music for short films, theatre, dance productions, many educational projects and has collaborated with artists such as Chequerboard, Adrian Crowley, Kevin Murphy, Amanda Coogan and Justine Doswell. She was cellist and vocalist with Teac Damsa’s production of Swan Lake/Loch na hEala 2017-2020 with whom she toured to South Korea, New Zealand, Canada, UK, Hong Kong and Australia.
She has written a music show for children, Feb 2019 with her Sister, Kathrine called Stringplay commissioned by the Ark and IMC.
Mary is programmer for the Sundays at Noon Concert Series in the Hugh Lane Gallery and co-director of Spike cello festival (spikecellofest.com).
