Marten James

Marten James is an Irish musician, songwriter and producer looking to push the modern sound forward, smashing genres together and always aiming for the furthest stars with unorthodox writing and production technique.
Born in Cork, Ireland, he was perpetually immersed in every kind of style. From Indie Rock to classic Hip Hop, Soul Music, Folk, Modern Pop and everything in between. This fusion led to him beginning his own musical journey, writing verses and melodies as a kid, before taking up his first instrument, a gifted Martin guitar, at the age of 15.
After enrolling in the Cork School of Music as an undergraduate, he officially launched his career with his first single ‘Hopeless’ in 2023, followed by his debut EP ‘Only Reason’. Spending time abroad to continue his musical education in 2024, he began an online series titled ‘New Music Friday’, releasing songs every Friday through his Youtube channel for over 8 months. Following this, he has now relocated back to Ireland, where he is working on his next project, commencing in Autumn 2026.
