Marguise is a collaborative endeavour from musicians Selu and Uwm. The Dublin duo’s sound fuses deep, hypnotic rhythms with raw, soulful melodies, balancing vintage warmth with modern electronics. Selu channels his Yoruba lineage into soul-stirring vocals that stretch into the future and alchemise culture. Raised between the rhythmic pulse of Nigeria and the quiet, rolling landscapes of Kildare, his sound is a bridge between continents, eras, wisdom and reinvention, blending vintage soul with modern textures. Grainne Dowling (aka Uwm., fka Uwmami) crafts sonic worlds from lush synths, warm guitar, industrial drums and found sounds, her work spanning studios, stages, screens and experimental collaborations, combining rooted sounds with ever-evolving modulation. Together, heritage meets future sound as they dive deep into an electronic alternative space where instinctive retro soul and contemporary beats are in constant dialogue.
