M'ADAM

Singer-songwriter // Mayfield, Cork // he/him

Adam O’Donovan, performing under the moniker M’ADAM, is a songwriter and musician based in Cork, Ireland. Initially starting his journey in music with classical piano, Adam has spent most of his music career focusing on original indie music. Adam started initially performing with local Cork acts such as: Atlantis Fire Department, Cassidy Club and Rob Carlile. He started working on his own original music project in September of 2019 under his nickname M’ADAM.
M’ADAM's debut studio album, Horse Food Budget 1984 (2023), was released independently and performed in Cork, Dublin, and Kilkenny. This album (which was inspired by a folder on a USB) is a story crafted through captivating melodies, beautiful rhythmic work and inspired by overcoming challenges from both self-motivation and challenges in the world. With a background in sustainable energy and energy efficiency his music explores themes of motivation, communication breakdown, environmental crisis, mental health, loss, and grief.
At the end of 2023, Adam began to work on their second album under the stewardship of Kealan Kenny with three releases in 2024 including tracks such as: It's you, Give me sun and We don’t know both of which will feature on Adam’s second album as M’ADAM. The second full-length album entitled Before We Die (2025) further deepens his exploration of grief and environmental anxiety—interrogating not only the stories we tell ourselves to survive but also the cost and cultural value of artistic creation itself. The album is due to be released on July 25th 2025 on vinyl and in August 2025 digitally, and Adam has committed to a monthly release schedule in 2025, with six releases already in 2025.
