L. Weary

Lo-fi // Dublin // He/him

L. Weary is a musician/song-writer/employee in a public library from Dublin.

After playing in punk and indie rock bands in Dublin and across Ireland for over a decade a lifelong chronic health condition reached a critical point and caused a reassessment and overhaul of his approach to writing. The impetus to make something much more personal yet also surreal in the hopes that it would approach a strange universality had manifested. Then came songs about relationships, the isolation of illness, the resulting digital worlds that one approaches and the fucked-up weirdnesses that come along with the viewing of things through this lens. That's how this thing called "L. Weary" started. Two years on from this a record has been finished and half metre of intestine has been removed. Innards and upwards, eh? Maybe. Anyway.

Musical influences include the work of David Berman, Vic Chesnutt, Phil Elverum, and The Magnetic Fields. Writers that have influenced the work are Patricia Lockwood, John Fahey's writing, Thomas Mann, and of course, again, forever, DCB.
