Luna Motif started taking shape during the COVID lockdowns. In a strange, quiet period where everything felt paused, something was creatively building towards pressing play. What came out of that wasn’t overly polished or calculated. It was raw, sometimes chaotic, but honest. Their sound pulls from different dimensions. Putting it into words feels limiting, but think gritty guitar work, underlying groove, and lyrics that lean into introspection without losing energy. It’s something you can move to, but also sit with.

Between 2024 and 2025, they released two EPs and a couple of standalone singles, gradually picking up momentum. First locally, then reaching further out. Their music has now been heard in over 100 countries, with more than 85,000 streams, along with support from Spotify’s Alternative Ireland playlist, RTÉ Entertainment, VOXWAVE, and FAME Magazine UK.

Now things are shifting again.

With a new lineup – Adrien Durouge on bass and Jason Traynor on drums joining Gerry McBride and Christos Salaforis – the band feels tighter, groovier, yet also heavier than before. There’s a different energy to it now. More intent. More identity. There's chemistry. There's real friendship.

Their upcoming EP Shapeless Pursuits reflects that shift. It’s easily their most complete work so far.

With festival slots lined up, more shows on the way, and new material coming through, 2026 is shaping up to be a big year.
