Lúan (Ciarán de Búrca) is a folk musician based in Galway City who mixes traditional folk influences with a a rock and metal background and has a bilingual set of lesser known folk tunes which he has honed through many years of playing regularly on the Galway Trad and Folk circuit.

Lúan plays the irish bouzouki and sings in English and as Gaeilge, playing in a style reminiscent of Andy Irvine or Dónal Lunny. As well as the more traditional influences, Lúan’s musical background is heavimy shaped by the metal scene in Ireland and abroad. Lúan spearheaded the Irish language Metal groups “Na Cruithne” and “Clagarnach” and his metal influences can be heard in his playing.

Lúan currently plays very regularly on the Galway Trad and Folk circuit, backing for sessions and playing amplified gigs in pubs such as The Quays and The Kings Head.
