Lowri is an Irish and Welsh speaking folk singer and DJ from Waterford, currently based between Ireland and London. As well as specialising in Music composition in Trinity College Dublin, she draws from a deep-routed musical heritage, with her grandad being Bobby Clancy from the Clancy Brothers and her uncle Finbarr Clancy of the High Kings, Irish folk runs in her veins. Her works blend intimate story-led songwriting with a modern edge shaped by time spent in Brooklyn's underground music scene.
Recently selected for Cân i Gymru 2026, Wales' national song contest, Lowri is already gaining recognition as an emerging voice across the Irish and UK music landscape, writing songs in Irish and Welsh.
Alongside her artist project, she is a founder of BK Loves Recs, a Brooklyn-born collective and label dedicated to championing emrging talent and amplifying underground producers within UK garage and electronic music. Her DJ sets span UKG, jungle and breaks, as well as recently experimenting with adding Irish elements like folk, Sean-nós and trad, reflecting a broad and forward-thinking approach to sound and curation.
As an artist, Lowri’s music leans into indie-folk and alternative influences, pairing soft, melodic vocals with honest, emotionally driven lyrics. Her upcoming release 'Hiraeth' marks the beginning of a new chapter, introducing Welsh and Irish lyrics that are both personal and contemporary while staying connected to her roots.
With a unique dual perspective as both a performer and curator, Lowri is carving out a distinct space between traditional songwriting and club culture — emerging as an exciting new voice in Ireland’s next generation of artists.
