Listowel

Dublin-based rock band Listowel released their debut single ‘Paychecks’ on September 25th 2025. Named after a village in County Kerry, Listowel is the songwriting vehicle for lead singer and guitarist Eli McGuire. Piecing together influences from angular British guitar rock à la Bloc Party or Franz Ferdinand, and alternative American rock bands from the 80s like The Misfits or The Replacements, McGuire’s jaw grinding refrains of angry defiance fight alongside volcanic guitar tones and chest pounding drums. The success of the single release has seen them opening for bands such as CABL, Delivery Service and GAG REFLEX, along side being listed as one of Genuine Irish's best of 2025. Listowel have garnered a reputation for winning over new fans with high energy performances and life-affirming mantras behind max volume distortion.
