Leonardo Biagini

Electronic // Dublin, Dublin // he

Leonardo Biagini is a writer, professional kickboxing athlete and music enthusiast (producer and dj), graduated in Political Sciences and Philosophy in Florence. He approached classical music and opera at a very young age, inspired by his paternal grandfather, Mauro Balli, an esteemed doctor in the city of Pistoia and a great lover of this genre. At seventeen, he began collecting his thoughts on paper following his interest in philosophy, thanks to his paternal uncle, a writer and philosophy teacher in Berlin. Since that year, 2011, Leonardo has published three essays with the Papyrus Communication publisher of Pistoia having as a common topic ‘the human soul and its developments’: Discourse on the Human Soul - Enoch and the Allegorical Way of Existence, Ultima Papyrus Papalis and Rousseau, Man and Progress. It is at that moment that his goal in life emerges, in consonance with his philosophical principles: the diffusion of such ancient knowledge to try to contribute to helping others. He has also participated in national and international poetry prizes, achieving important results. However, a new type of music took over his interests - the electronic music of the 90s - in which he will find the true point of connection with his metaphysical interests. He collects afro, funky, synth pop, robot pop, indie dance, house and techno vinyls to add to his grandfather’s previous collection of classical music and to the dance vinyls from the 70s and 80s inherited from his father . In 2018, he met Edoardo Serra and began collaborating as a writer and music lover, as he likes to define himself, with the Radiohousemusic project. From that moment, his passion as an avid vinyl collector, producer and dj was grounded. He collaborates with Radio Pistoia, Proxima Radio, Radio Mare Imperiale News, Radio Londra, Radio Kaoss and many others. In December 2021, his documentary on the history of electronic music entitled The Season of Love was released on Fango Radio, where he retraces the history of electronic music from the dawn of the 1940s to the early 2000s. Following numerous trips abroad, he decided to settle in Dublin, with his beloved wife Sarah, where he is working with the famous national broadcaster Phever Radio as a DJ with his own show, entitled The Age of Love. He's also collaborating as a DJ for the famous Absys Records Studio in Dublin, directed by the disc jokey and producer Pawel ‘Sho’. He participated as a DJ for various organisation managements and numerous gigs in the city’s leading clubs, such as Button Factory, Fibbers Maggees, The Grand Social, and The Bow Lane, Opium Garden, So Below and abroad. He also works for Radio Dublin and Radio Ireland as a speaker proposing an annual column on the history of the electronic scene in Europe and other initiatives. Is now producing for various record label with his friend Lorenzo Bianco specially releasing on Mccarty Records. He's producer of "concrete music" as well being part of the group "Irish Wonders" with Brian Doyle and Alina Troyanenko.
