Alternative // Dublin

Laura Sheeran, 24, hails from Co. Galway but currently resides in Dublin where she has been writing, recording and gigging since 2007. Blending classical influences with heavy electronic production and filtering it all through a dark witching gauze Laura's music is both melancholic, rich and powerful and has led her to be described as "an episode of Twin Peaks in female form".
A 'creative dynamo', Laura has an extensive back catalogue of work to date including a number of soundtracks that she has done for various theater shows and short films, her solo (and collaborative) CD/Vinyl/digital releases, not to mention a series of videos she herself has filmed, edited and released in tandem with her music.

Laura is also a member of the following bands/collectives:

Nanu Nanu are an ALIEN POP duo based in Dublin. Members MARC2 and GLITTERFACE use analogue and modular synths teamed with electronic beats and live drums (RORY DOYLE - SUPERFLY) to create a foundation upon which, layers of processed and effected vocals can be thrown - the result is the spectacular sound of NANU NANU. The band incorporate a strong visual element to their performances with the help of leading visual artist JANE CASSIDY. The use of mirrors, prisms and LEDs is often put into play to turn the venue into extraterrestrial wonderland. NANU NANU are a band you definitely WANT to see live!

Laura has been a core member of FOVEA HEX, the brain-child of Clodagh Simonds (and one of the most intriguing phenomena in contemporary music) since the age of 15. Despite the seemingly wilful nonchalance that has kept them under the radar so far (only 3 ep releases in 5 years, a mere fistful of appearances in France, Spain, Italy and Ireland, and their preference for elliptical, minimal design) the group have nevertheless developed an enviable cult status both in Europe and the United States, have performed at the personal invitation of DAVID LYNCH in the gardens of the Cartier Foundation in Paris and have attracted the free and willing participation of a genre and generation hopping rollcall of A-list luminaries including BRIAN ENO, ROBERT FRIPP, CARTER BURWELL, DONAL LUNNY, and STEVEN WILSON, as well as a who's who of the electronic avant-garde including ROGER DOYLE, the HAFLER TRIO, COLIN POTTER and MICHAEL BEGG.
