Late Met Dawn is a project started in 2021 by singer songwriter and veteran Dublin open miccer Fin O'Brine. A flow of musicians around songs of longing, myth and reflection that generate dreamy rolling rhythms entwined with deep lyrical roots. The style fuses intricate finger picking and chunky bass lines, solid beats and lyrical treats.
Likened on occasion to the styles of Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen. Unique and intriguing, dulcet and dire, the ongoing weird musings for the masses include the last single released in November 2025, "TCAFO". A clumsy take on the idea of implementing hate speech laws in Ireland, which came with a Music Video of an idiot in a bear costume handing out stickers and was recorded in the Dublin City centre streets in June 2025 and is available on Youtube. Two singles will be released later in 2026 that were also recorded with Rohan Healy & Al Quiff at Beardfire Studios. "Sweet girls of Cabra", a tale of an Irish community pooling resources to smuggle food from Wales during The Famine and "Tulsa", a dirge reflecting on the limited choices people have in many underserved parts of the US. Rarely straying from the shadows as we try to understand. He is a fixture at the Tuesday session in Sin E, Dublin where you'll catch a dose every Tuesday for 25 mins just after 9.
