Kapayja are an independant alternative rock act from Dublin, Ireland. They have an expansive sound which oozes character and conviction from each genre they take from. The band is comprised of four members with taste’s as uniquely curated as each other. What comes of this is a spooky, experimental, and exiting sound.
Their latest single Crack a Smile was spotlighted by Hot Press. “The atmospheric, haunting guitar wailing of the track is reminiscent of The Smiths’ ‘How Soon Is Now?’ while the choruses sound like a grittier version of a track from Arctic Monkeys’ Humbug (2009).”
As Goo Magazine described one of their most recent performances having "scorching lead lines, lush shoegazey soundscapes and a sense of unwavering confidence". Their most recent releases confirm this.
Leading track Livin’ from upcoming EP Age of the Open Book, received RTE’s 2FM Grass Roots pick presented by Beta De Silva’s and had attention from Genuine Irish and John Barker at Dublin City FM.
Their sophomore release from this EP entitled Two for Joy featured on playlists from Golden Plec, IMRO and First Music Contact and radio play on Galway’s Flirt FM.
Final single Crack a Smile, was spotlighted by Hot Press and was played on the UK’s Radio X as part of John Kennedy’s X-Posure show. Their highly anticipated debut studio project is out now!
